This is perhaps the stupidest question I've asked here, and I almost feel guilty for wasting a thread on it.

But in one of those "I can't have the car yet, but I'd like to DO something" moods, I'm wondering if the antenna replacements used for the pre-R56 (and other cars, like Honda, etc.) will work.

Because then I can start comparing the different antennas and shopping for that and then order it and hold on to it as a talisman of some sort until the car arrives.

Nah, not sick. I did the same thing when I bought mine. I'd probably bite the bullet, go the honda dealer, and buy a Honda S2000 antenna (Its a very nice stubby antenna) for 16 bucks (which is exactly what I did before I got my 2006), and viola, instant talisman. If it doesn't fit, you can always sell it here relatively easily, or just toss it. At best, you've got your first mod; at worst, your out 16 bucks (or less if you resell it here).

 

They thread size is the same between the R56 and previous models so I see no reason why it would not work.

 

Cool, this will give me something to transfer the obsession to.

MOL gave me my VIN today, I was thinking using the MOL order status is a little like playing a slot machine, and I was muttering, "c'mon...c'mon..." as the music played, and BOOM! it says scheduled for production and there VIN is there.

So I guess this would make me production week 3?
