I ordered my MINI a couple of days ago (from Art at MINI of The Woodlands), and was told to expect it mid to late February. It's already showing as accepted, but doesn't have a build date yet.

I think the automatic transmissions are going to be delivered in March...

 

Just received my '07 MCS production number. How do I use this number to track the progress of the car? Thank you, Fusor2000

 

Order is showing up still as awaiting schedule, but shows all my options except LSD (been this way for four days) should I be worried yet? Miniusa was saying production w1 07...

Called 1-866-ASK-MINI - showed it hit the "Scheduled for Production." Dealer told me it was at status 112 which means the factory accepted the order and is readying it for production. Looks like a few more days before 150 status which means it gets a VIN

 

Got a vin, called 1-866-ASK-MINI and the car is IN PRODUCTION with a scheduled comp date of 1/5/07.

I just got off the phone with 1-866 ask mini, because I could not get my production number to work. I was seceduled for 1/07 production, I say was because the man at ASK MINI just told me that my MINI is in the paint shop already!!!! He said I will probably not be able to use my # to track the car. He also said that even if the car is done next week it will probably not reach my dealer untill the last week of January. He agreed with my suggestion that MINI would not allow too many in customer hands before the offical launch date.

They allowed none to anyone except their own testers before UK launch. Some cars were at dealer 2 weeks before launch but dealers weren't allowed to hand them over to owners until Nov 18th.

 

Are you guys talking to someone on 1866 ask mini? or the automated voice?

Automated voice says I have no date yet.. but I ordered this sucker 3 weeks ago on Dec 1st.

I actually talked to a human who gave me the estimated 1/5 production complete date.
The track your MINI site had the VIN and the complete order stats.

 

Well Just called and still on "Ordered" status.. No VIN or anything.. Odd.. And I was the 4th order in at Moritz.. on the 2nd day they began taking orders..

Early means nothing I guess.

I know I have nothing that is delaying my order.

 

If it makes you feel any better, Moritz had my order and a deposit since October and I had my build number in November so yours is probablly in production and the data probably just isn't available yet. I think that MINIUSA said that mine went to production on the 16th.

 

Odd.. Wonder why Moritz didnt tell me preorders started earlier.. They said they would call me whenever it did but didnt require a deposit etc mainly since the deposit wont be charged till the item goes into production.. Oh Well I dont mind.. They rock as a dealership for sure.

THe guy on the phone said the dealer knows more info then they do since they just grab the same stuff the website usually says.

Curious.. ALl of these cars that will be done by like Jan 5th.. and lets say it takes 3 weeks to get to the states.. What will those cars do? Sit on lots? Thats gotta stink =[

The way that shipping is staged, we could still get them on the same day even if they are built a week or so apart!

 

 

I hear you all. I ordered the first of December and have a production number, but I still only get order on the miniusa website and scheduled for production on 1-866-ask-mini.

I wonder if it has anything to do with the color. Maybe some colors are built one week and others on alternating weeks. I have no idea how car production works, but I am looking for an answer.

Any other thoughts?
