R56 07 Pics

me too
IMHO:
Exterior - The R56 appears to be "inflated" - meaning that it looks like features are puffed up. The hood is higher and more vertical in the front. The fog lights are bigger; the wheel arch trim is larger (this may not be an issue if you paint the trim); etc. It is not necessarily a bad look, but just takes some time to get used to. The exterior features are livable in my opinion with the exception of the hood scoop. While I know they kept it for model distinction, it just seems a bit chintzy to me.
Interior - One word - bad. Everything looks like it was made by Tyco. I won't even start on the speedo, but the entire center column looks cheap. It is just not to my liking. Others may love it and I don't want to take anything away from that. This is only my opinion.
I have not had the pleasure of a test drive but am scheduling one soon.
Bottom line: I think the exterior will grow on you, but you don't see that when you are sitting behind the wheel. I am not sure if what you do see from behind the wheel will grow on you or not.
I am glad to have an '06.

i bought myself my first Mini this past saturday, a pepper white, chrome fixin's in and out, with the blk bonnet stripes and tsw 17" black wheels ...i love it. so does my wife. was going to order the new 07, but i'm not fond of the look, and the interior bugs me too. everything feels less "Mini" like...still it'll probably grow on me. if i knew the mpg was 40, that might have effected my decision, but hell, i'm happy to have gotten my 06, i think this modern generation 02-06 will become a classic for all time.
who knows, if i turn out to luv the mini even more than i do now, maybe i'll get the new generation one as a 2nd! (for the wife!)

You will find that, in general, the NAM family will be most supportive of your purchase of an '07 MINI. But like all families, there are those "bad relatives" that take pleasure in stirring up the pot, dispensing remarks and opinions that are belittling or that cause controversy for the sake of argument (trolling).
My advice to you is, ENJOY YOUR '07 MINI!
The only opinion that matters is YOURS! Remember YOU are driving your '07, and YOU are making the car payments on your '07, NOT others. Who cares if they don't agree with your choice. The only person that needs to be happy is YOU.
As for those inclined to "Give you a Hard Time", ignore them and keep on motoring. Friends don't treat friends in such a manner.
Welcome to the world of MINI! Enjoy your R56! It's a MINI... Guaranteed to make you smile!
