LED vs Xenon upgrade?

Trying to decide on what to do about the headlight issue on my 2013 R56 base. Looked at halogen projectors but most not thrilled so found these on ECS Tuning:

Xenon upgrade - OEM 25w assembly: https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...63102347698kt/
and
LED ugrade: https://www.ecstuning.com/b-ziza-par...minir56hl~vin/

My goal is more visibility and somewhat plug and play. I assume the xenon will need coding at the dealer and the LED some canbus adapter? Can someone help me clarify? The xenons have had a big price drop so it is enticing.

Thanks
Jay

I haven't tried those LEDs. I got a set of Depo (I think) halogen projectors which were decent and then went to the OEM 25W xenons which I'm really happy with. Either are light years better than the stock halogens, which are freakin' dangerously bad.

The xenons do need coding. Dealer can do it, but it might be cheaper to just buy Bimmergeeks ProTool with a coding license and a K-DCAN adapter, that'll do it too. That will also code for the LEDs or the halogen projectors.

I have the LED Ziza and they a huge jump over those Genuine Xenon in light output and function. I guess if you like the oem style go with the super discount xenons. If you like any light increase and functions, go with the ziza.

Thanks. Looks like Bimergeeks only works on Android. Have iPhone. Would Bimmercode work as well? Thanks

Dont know about that, most people just get flashed at MINI dealer for the Genuine MINI 25w upgrade. Here is all that info.

Do you have a windows computer? Here's the actual BMW tool to download: https://www.bimmerscene.com/showthread.php?tid=49 I don't know what cable is needed though.

I've had the Zenon's in my car. and they're great I would expect most aftermarket LED units to blind oncoming drivers. I'm going to wear out the left stalk in my car at all the people I have to flash for blinding me.

Ziza LEDs Projector housing units and the Genuine MINI Xenons: They dont blind as they have the correct light cut off/pattern on low beam.

I copied BimmerCode's webpage of Supported Coding options for the R55/56/57/58/59/60/61 and pasted it to a word document. I then searched for Xenon and didn't see anything that resembled enabling it.

I think I read it can be done with NCS Expert but would have to verify.

It can be done with NCS Expert but Bimmergeeks Protool is a lot easier. This post has instructions on what to change:

Can you explain this further. What do you mean by the Ziza's are a huge jump over the Xenon's?
So are the Ziza;s newer than the Spec D' lights and doesn't matter if your car originally came with halogens because I was comparing them to the FX LED lights you sell.

The Ziza headlights: https://www.ecstuning.com/b-ziza-par...minir56hl~vin/

LED, increased light output. DRL Halos. Black Housing.

VS

Factory Xenon Upgrade 25w (not black but gray housing): https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...63102347698kt/

25w or 35w (if you have them stock), not as bright and clear as the Ziza LEDs. NO DRL rings. No F56 LCI design.
