Only 1x rear backup light working . Any advice ??

So I have an error warning light and my drivers side backup light ( one in the bumper , Unionjack flag) and it doesn't illuminate. I put a new light in ect , inspected the wiring but nothing..if worse comes to worse I will jump it off the other side light BUT I'd rather fix it correctly.
what fuse # is it because I don't see anything labeled on the back of the fuse lid in the footwell and Google lists the horn fuse as the rear backup lights ( of course )..
so where should I begin looking ?? I know the socket is fine too because I swapped it over to the other side..

I can’t help with the troubleshooting, but if the other side is working, it wouldn’t be a fuse.

Does your car have the rear fog light option?

I just went back to your build thread… Doesn’t look like you have rear fog light switch in the dashboard. However, you do have an LCI model, which came with the rear fog light trim.

Your car only has one rear reverse light - the one on the passenger side. The drivers side is the place holder for the rear fog light.

In order to get a driver’s side reverse light, you will have to jumper the housing to the passenger side. Otherwise, just get used to it.

Is that why the 2x rear lights didn't match ? Because only the passenger was the backup light ?
Maybe then I just wires these rear foglights to my brake lights so they illuminate and have a function. Otherwise the rear left one never will even light up...
I'm kinda confused , so should my car have come with the rear foglight switch panel? Because this is the cars oem rear bumper.. and I DO have a light warning on when i 1st start the car but inpa didn't say anything related to it ( though I can check again ) BUT I have NO out lights other than that drivers side bumper/fog light not working.. the lights wouldn't come mismatched like that from factory , would they ???

If I purchased a full switch panel, would this then allow my rear lights to function correctly ??

That is how the LCI cars were supplied. The lights were supplied in one configuration, but the rear fog light switch and activation was a factory option on the build sheet. My R55 Clubman is also asymmetrical. I am ALWAYS being told I have a reverse light out on the drivers side.

To get the rear fog light working, there might still be some coding that is required. I know there are instructions somewhere on the forum for adding rear fog light....

You don't need to by the whole switch panel .......the rear fog light toggle can be purchased separately .....
The car has to be coded for the rear Foglight's......The right side is the only light that works as the reverse....

Yep one side is back up and one side is rear fog on the LCI with JCW bumper kit. That has to be coded and toggle present.

Is you want to change it to duals.

I have to have an electrical issue. My rear lights in the flares never light up either 😒.... hmm...
i chased back all the wiring up into the trunk behind the tailights and it all looks good.
no matter matter try I can't get the Rear sidemarker lights lit...
I do have aftermarket tailights that have a built in toggle switch to run reverse lights or extra brake light like the lci so i will atleast have good backup lights because will run them that way..
is there a relay i should be checking or a fuse I'm over looking ???

You probably need to pull the wiring to the side markers and check the connections and bulb sockets for corrosion.

Some voltage and ground multimeter readings may also shed light on the problem.

I checked for corrosion and found none. I did have a broken bulb in drivers side rear sidemarker but replacing it did nothing.
it's for sure a wiring or relay problem. I checked all the wiring as much as I could chase it back and there's no splits or cracking or anything of the wires.
its odd that BOTH rear sidemarkers arnt working and i DO have a light/bulb error when i 1st start the car..
will inpa possibly be of any help with this ?? I do got my inpa back in English now so I can use it again. ( thanks adriancl , always a BIG help )..

Sooooo im postive this car was wrecked before. I found no frame damage or panel issues ect but it definitely has had lights and body panels replaced on one side like it sideswiped a wall or something.
so if lights were replaced from damage, could they also maybe have replaced the modules and NOT had them coded to the car ?
are the rear light modules the white box's I see next to the tailights in that rear housing area? Or what and where do I find them to check ?
this I found IS NOT ....
