Crankshaft pulley Bolts

It says to replace these 3 bolts and torque to 50nm. Do they really need to be replaced every time you remove them? They don't look bad...but these worries me.

@mini-is-for-me ,

Because these engines have extreme high tolerances in terms of clearances and torque specifications, using the same bolts may have stretched over time therefore re-using the same bolt won't get the exact same tightness and fit as the first time therefore parts that are being fastened won't have that snugged. So running the motor will have slightly loosened parts causing to prematurely leak fluids and you will have to go back and retighten all of those bolts again.

I looked at these bolts and they are not stretched. I found the specs and they are only torqued at 28nm. People are confusing the main crankshaft timing bolt with the pulley bolts.

The main crank bolt, definitely do not reuse. Those 3 little pulley bolts, I wouldn’t hesitate to reuse them.
