I've pulled the engine and transmission from my R56 N14 Cooper S to replace the long block. None of the manuals have the fluids info I need for the 6 speed automatic transmission.
1. Do the transmission and differential share a common fluid reservoir.
2. If not what is the fluid capacity of the differential as none of my sources separate it from the transmission.
The differential has a different viscosity than the automatic transmission fluid. You didn't mention what year is your mini cooper what engine type you have. Here's a chart and link to provide you a better information:
It is a 2010 Copper S with the R56 N14 engine. Thanks for the charts but I do not see a differentiation between transmission and differential on the chart, unless I'm missing something.
Ahhh...... The transfer case and differential only involves AWD. Since you have a two wheel drive, you do not have a have a transfer case and a differential(unless your mini cooper is rear wheel drive which I have never seen in a two wheel front wheel drive). Go to your local part store and ask for transmission fluid that is dedicated to mini coopers. They can provide you with a particular type of fluid.
