Window switch replacement

2012 non-S Cooper hatchback-- I rolled my driver's window down the other day, and felt a snap. The switch is now loose. It still works fine, but wobbles in place. I figure it's only a matter of time before the plastic completely fails and it breaks off. My local dealer tells me that the parts are not currently available, and there is no estimate on when they might become available.

I see that I can get the complete center console fascia, or a good part of it, from evil-bay used. Hopefully in good condition. Can anyone tell me if I will need to get the car programmed to use the new/used part(s)? I know that there are a surprising number of things that the computers on our cars have to be told about...

Frustratingly, I rearranged the house a while ago and cannot find my Bentley manual!

I believe you just have to swap out the switch panel, no programming needed unless you’re adding a rear fog light switch that wasn’t there before. Worst case, I would think you could disassemble the switch panel and change out just the chrome toggle.

Just the toggle? You can get that, in stock in the MINI depo.

Found the Bentley manual! Unfortunately it has nothing to say on this subject, at least not that I can find. I guess I'll have to judiciously pry and unscrew things once the replacement switch gets here.

Pretty sure there was no intention to make the switches user replaceable. You’re going to have to just be slow and determined to pull the unit apart and swap the toggle.
