Switch Panel Help

2004 R50:

All,

After two days' work replacing the door guts (window motors, regulators, lock assemblies), now I have found that the center console switch panel's passenger window switch is FUBAR. It will work intermittently after I pulled the plastic underguard and jiggled the connector on the back of the switch up and down. The connector is tight; I do not believe it is a wiring issue. This car has (unfortunately) ALL six of the switches as fitted. Left to Right: power window, DSC, Central Locking, Front Fogs, Rear Fogs, power window. I have not yet removed this switch but believe the part number to be : 61-61-6-917-992.

Can anyone help me identify the correct part number and/or advise where I could find one of these switches working/used or for less than dealer cost?

Thanks in advance.

Looks like 61316917993. RealOEM is your friend: https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/par...&q=61316917993

And so is ECS: https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...s/61316917993/

I have a 6-switch panel listed in the parts section but it says ASC not DSC.

Thanks Steve. I’ve not used RealOEM before. Are they reputable? And how do you order?

You can't order from RealOEM, just us it as a reference to get part numbers and applications. Another reference you need to use is NewTIS https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/ Between the two you can build a Mini from scratch. Just kidding but they are great resources.

or https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...6958033-a.html
Sorry for the shameless plug.

Are you sure it's the switch? Usually an intermittent window is the window motor itself.
The cheap/easy "fix" is to hold the toggle and then bang on the door just above the speaker.

Sorry for this..

Kinda hijacking but also responding to this even though it's old.. I have now gone through 2 central locking button control panels in 18 months, because, for some reason, my DSC button keeps shorting out and it ends up affecting my driver's side window as the corrosion ends up jumping the board to the window button. Was this what happened to you? Any ideas on what could be causing this? Also an unrelated or possibly related problem, my passenger rear caliper keeps freezing up.This is the second time i've had to replace this caliper in three years.
