R53/52S. Impossible vacuum leak?

Hi all! Long time lurker, first time poster. For background, I bought a R52S 10 years ago for $85 with a blown head gasket. I’ve done lots of work, including manual swapping it and replacing the engine once, but I’ve been forever plagued by a sporadic P1477 CEL. I’ve been on and off for about 5 years looking for it and have never had luck, wondering if people have some insight into it. The connector to the nipple on the intercooler horn has been replaced, the evap purge solenoid has been replaced (and is in the right orientation), as well as the leak detection pump most recently. Inspected the lines that run under the car up to the engine bay from the charcoal area and nothing jumped out at me…. Smoke test didn’t show anything obvious, and the idle only hunts when it’s warm and only if the revs drop fast enough. It also chokes a little bit when it starts. I’m on the brink of selling/junking this thing as I can’t smog it with this CEL. Thank you in advance.
