Auto lights no longer work after new battery

I had a new battery fitted a little while back - and ever since the auto light function no longer functions correctly.

Essentially when I turn lights to auto, the lights just turn on, no matter the ambient light level outside.

I did have the company in question come back to investigate at the issue, but despite ‘registering’ the battery and checking the auto light function via their OBD software, the issue remains.

Could anyone offer any insights / suggestions for me to consider?

Locate the ambient light sensor and make sure it is not covered/obscured.

Thank-you for your reply. Is this the sensor located at the top of the windscreen? If so, this is definitely not covered or obscured.

The auto lights were working perfectly right up until the battery change - so assume it's related to that?

@ECS Tuning - isn’t that sensor for climate control rather than lights?

Still not resolved this. Auto wipers work fine, but the lights and also the stop start function do not work / work correctly. Coding issue when the battery was replaced?

Climate and lights/dimmer. Battery should not do that. I changed my battery and they still work in auto.

Odd as they were working perfectly right until the battery change.

Yep, i mean something cause have went bad. Only thing i could see is to disconnect the battery for a while and try again. Otherwise maybe the FRM?

Thats a very interesting read and somewhat similar to my experience with battery change.

Regarding the advice on disconnecting the battery - won’t this also affect the FMR even further?

Also noticed whilst playing music with the car turned off that the yellow battery logo appeared and the audio system wouldn’t work then whilst the car wasn’t turning over - even with a new battery?

Now it sounds like a weak battery, bad terminal connection, or FRM probelms. The battery disconnect just resets the system.
