R56 Actual ground clearance - best method to measure?
Actual ground clearance - best method to measure?
Hi all - could use some advice.
I am planning to ship my 2007 r56 to Hawaii from the port of Oakland at the end of July. They require a minimum of 5" ground clearance to ship a vehicle.
From what I can find thru searches, the stock ground clearance for my 2007 was between 5.2" and 5.7" from the factory. It has about 88K miles on it currently. When parked in a pretty level spot and using a tape measure, it looks like it could be close...
So, the question is this: where is the lowest point of the undercarriage located on a 2007 justa? My eye says it is the rear edge of the plastic protective plate mounted just under and behind the front bumper on the passenger side - but my measurement taken now will determine whether they are willing to load my car onto the boat in July, the day before I plan to catch a flight... so I could really use some confirmation, or correction, from the community as to the lowest point of the undercarriage to be measuring from...
My thanks to all who took the time to read this post, and doubly so to all who reply.
