R56 N14 JCW Engine Swap to N14 MCS Engine

Does anyone know if its possible to put in a N14 MCS engine to replace my N14 JCW engine in my 2012 R56? Because I can't find a N14 JCW engine anywhere.....

I would assume you could...most likely needing ecu and all. Why not rebuild the jcw?! I'd take it off your hands.

Is 2012 R56 N18 and not N14?

The one in the pic is N14 as it has the PCV, I thought 2012 onwards was N18.

Hope the swap works out for you.

The JCW has a bigger turbo and at at least a thicker head gasket to lower compression. Maybe exhaust manifold. So not sure if it's that easy of a drop in. Are you planning to reuse the turbo? Then, as you have the engine out, swapping in a different head gasket should be a breeze.

I believe the JCW has different pistons that lower the compression ratio, not necessarily a different head gasket. Assuming the sensors are the same, the MCS engine should drop right in and work. Even if they're not, you could swap them. That said, it's probably still cheaper to rebuild your motor if you have a decent mechanic.

0.9mm vs 1.2mm for the head gasket. At least my fJCW.
