loosened downpipe tube gives a faster feel?

Loosening the connection between the downpipe tube and the exhaust tube will surely have a diff in the sound (sounds more aggressive) but might it have any effect on the feel of speed? For example like changing an exhaust to a more "open" one?

It doesn't sound more aggressive, it sounds like ****. It sounds like your car is broken because you literally have an exhaust leak.

You'll also be spewing exhaust gas and soot all over the bottom of the car.

Overall I guess it would have a slight effect on exhaust flow but you'd likely not notice any difference.

To be frank it doesn't sound like ****

True, although it has not spread through al of the car's bottom, just 10cm around the leak.

When I did my downpipe I tried to re use the v band and it didn't make a seal. Did exactly what you're talking about and I thought it sounded like absolute garbage. Rattled too.

What is a "v band"?

It's the clamp you loosened. This seems like a pretty sketchy way to make your car louder. I'd be worried about the clamp just falling off over time.

Yeah i know its sketchy hehe but the funny things was that i didn't make it on purpose, the tech was prolly on a very hectic day and forgot to tighten it. I only found out about it due to the noise and the better feeling when "stepping" on it!

The "better feeling" is probably carbon monoxide poisoning from having the exhaust exit right in front of the cabin. I'd hate to be in your car stuck in traffic with the windows down.

I'd be seriously surprised if an exhaust leak provided more power.

Its a very small leak, but enough to feel and hear

well why not? It bypasses the whole exhaust pipe. When one changes the Oem exhaust to other 3rd party ones, why do they do it, just for the style? Nope, those exhausts are more "open", "free" so that's why you get extra horse power!
So that is why I believe that it's kinda the same with my case!

Yes, they are more open and free, but the flow is also smooth and efficient. What you have is like a hole in a straw.

true, but a small portion of the air will not need to pass through the whole exhaust pipe, some of the air escapes faster than the rest. Im not making a comparison with an after market exhaust, not in any case, im just saying that it looked to me that its a little better than the OEM in terms of performance... i think. :-)

Not for nothing I'd be pretty pissed if a technician loosened the v band on my car and left me with an exhaust leak....

Well like the others said, chance of CO getting into the cabin. But more of a thought of what else wasn't tightened all the way. And you can hear the exhaust. You can't hear loose wheel lugs or suspension parts (usually).
