I have a 2011mcs and I'm looking at new wheels and tires for this summer. I found a set of wheels I like but they are 17x7 with 42mm offset. My question is 17x7 to narrow? Will it looked weird? Should I look for a at least a 17x 7.5?

 

Depends on the tire you are trying to install. I have 17x7.5 et 42 with 235/40 and that's pretty much the physical limit of the car

 

I have 215 45 17 water tires and I thought about gping with that size with summer tires. Was thinking about potenza re 71r but I'm not sure what tire brand yet. Would like something that would last a little longer.

 

For that size I would stick with a 17x7 wheel, it will be a little lighter than a 7.5 wide as well.
