Monster Mini, WTF???? Why is the thing such a high roller??
I snagged an R56 today that's stanced like a monster truck. Obviously the tires are oversized 215/60-15, but that doesn't explain the huge gap in the fender wells. Any ideas on what's going on? The springs looked stock.
At this point, the damn car looks like a tortoise!
Maybe it's the angle of the picture, but pic #5 actually makes it look like there are spacers between the strut plates and the body of the car, which shouldn't be. How deep in that center hole is the top nut of the strut?

The strut plate in this pic is around 1.5" - 2" from the body. It is clearly different compared to my R53's.

Well there's your 2" of lift. The strut top plate should be against the body of the car. Interesting way to lift but I'm sure this is ****ing the suspension geometry in some way.

Welcome to my world with R56 as it is they look like a 4x4 in the back without those spacers..i have the coilovers awaiting me finding a right wheels,my 17x8.25 et22 with 215/45/17's made it look even taller.
Looks like you might be able to just put the car up on jack stands, let the wheels hang, unbolt the top of the struts to drop them a little, take the spacers off, then push the struts back up to where they should be.
No idea if those tires would fit under the fenders with the stock suspension though.
Maybe it's just the angle of the picture, but it looks like someone did the joey mod on your headlights and didn't put them back in the correct position. They're a little misaligned with the chrome ring.

Nah the whole hood's out of whack. Looks like a front end crash and some "close enough" body work. Mine's the same way.
I'm really conflicted on what to do with this Mini. I'm really temped to drop it back down and install some low profile tires, but I might just leave it alone and flip it. Regardless, I've got a good bit of repairs/maintenance work to do on it first. It's got a leaky oil filter housing and VC. I've ordered gaskets, but I'm tempted to install a catless DP and new oil feed line while I'm in there. I plan to start stripping it down tonight.
Hey, I might just bulldog it!

Not too many r56 models with a lift kit, seen more on the R60 and R61. I guess it's good for rally cross or it you were off roading or going to D squared version MINI. But other than that most people lower.
