Greetings,

I would like to know how much does it cost, to get it fix? My 2008 mini cooper is having a warning on LOW TIRE PRESSURE, the small (!) Yellow, and the big color RED.

I live in Las Vegas, I am the third owner of the car, bought it this January, I don't have any clue how much it would run me?

I just want to have IDEA before going to the dealership or independent mechanic.

This is my first car, actually, so i don't have knowledge of sort.

did you try checking your tire pressures?

Did the car come with an owner's manual? Have you read it?

does any tire LOOK flat or low?

is the car a Cooper or Cooper S?

Do you have any idea if it has runflat tires on it? (these came standard on the S)

OK, I pulled up your older posts and see you have a Cooper (aka JUSTA Cooper) so you most likely do not have runflats. If no tire looks low it could be just a few pounds low and this is no biggie. You can fill your tires at any garage, all you need is a tire pressure gauge which is a few dollars at any auto parts store. Go at a slow time and ask the guy in the store to show you how to use it . . .

You could have a faulty TPMS sensor but I'd try the pressures first. Not unusual for the tires to loose a lil air .... you should check monthly.

 

be aware if you've been driving around on a very low runflat tire you need to replace the tire, don't just pump it up.

And i believe it doesn't run flat tires.

Just a heads up actually my car now is flat

 

it may have a nail that's causing the flat tire. if you have an America's Tire, take the wheel there and they may be able to fix it for free. good luck.

 

earlier posts said you do not have an S

so you should have a spare ... and a jack .....

you either need to find someone to show you some basics ... or join AAA

That tire probably has a nail or similar in it and can be repaired .... needs to be taken off and gotten to a tire shop. Repair should cost under $20 IF the nail is in the center of the tread

HOWEVER, if the nail is in or near the sidewall the tire can NOT be repaired and you will have to replace it . . .

where do you live? You need some auto basics classes. Heck, I didn't allow my kids to get licenses until they demonstrated changing flat tires.

 

mine learn to check tire pressure before the training wheels come off their bikes..

 

After going on vacation our 2013 mini cooper sat idle in the hot sun for a week.
Now we are getting a low tire message on all 4 tires. I added air to approx 35 psi to all 4 tires yet the idiot light remains on, even after driving the car for 10 miles. Does the sensor just go bad or is it something else. These are new (non flat) conventional tires.
Any ideas greatly appreciated.

try a system reset as described in the owner's manual in the TPM section

 

I put air in all 4 tires and reset as per manual instructions and the idiot lights went away. I guess the extremely hot weather and 7 day idleness caused the low inflation.
