Mini Cooper Acceleration noise

Hello!

I have a little problem with my Mini Cooper R50 2005 (automatic). When I accelerate hard I get a high-pitch noise. When it is cold outside the noise disappears. Sometimes when I start the car in the morning the sound does not appear from the start, but after the car has warmed up (after about 5 minutes) the noise comes back again. This high-pitch noise seems to appear only in the lower gears. The performance of the transmission has been great so I think that is not the problem? Here is a little video that I made so it would be more clear –
Also when I accelerate lightly the noise isn't there.

Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be?

Thanks!

Sounds like transmission noise or maybe an axle ( but usually its all the time ), hard to tell. What side of the engine is it coming from ?

To me it sounds like the sound is coming from the passenger side (the right side). When I called MINI and said that I had an issue with this high-pitch sound, they did an inspection and found that the right output shaft had an issue, but I am not sure if that is the actual problem that is making this sound? Could it be?

Well....you had a mechanic tell you you have an issue....
Now you say you hear a noise....
Related....think?
Nobody likes to spend unnecessary $$ on a car...but once you have one known issue...troubleshooting anything else becomes exponentially harder, since the bad part can make others do abnormal things, or even make others fail, making repairs more $$$$.

Thanks for the comment ZippyNH. I agree with you 100%, but because I live in a small country the output shaft will arrive only in late May. So I was just wondering if anyone had a similar issue, I thought maybe it is something else that is making the sound.

I would check that output shaft for sure , we ship world wide also and very fast.

Have you messed with the axle up on the rack, moved it back and forth?

The axle itself looked good. I actually did move it back and forth and everything looked and sounded just like it is suppose to. I will probably take the car to my friends service center to see what he thinks could be the issue.
