What is the paint code for the contrasting black roof?

My roof rack scratched my paint — well, it was probably me with the rack as my accidental tool — so I need to touch it up to prevent rust.

I have a Pepper White with black roof, non-metallic. All the paint code references I can find on NAM, OutMotoring, and random other sites I googled have only metallic blacks listed.

anyone know the paint code for the simple black roof? Thanks a million if you can help!

Definitely tough to find info on this. The option code is 383 for black roof

You're a star! I also asked OutMotoring, not really expecting a response, but within an hour today I got a message directly from Aaron:

Based on what I have found after doing a bit of research it seems that MINI uses the jet black paint which code is: BMW code = 668

As several sources all say 668, that's what I'll order!

You bet! Photos too, unless I embarrass myself badly with the results ;-)

I agree the code 668 appears to be the right one.

note that the NAME of the color changed a few times but the code 668 - and the Sherwin Williams formula number - stayed the same.

The 'application' of this code is 'miscellaneous' rather than 'exterior' which is how body colors are listed.

I believe this to be the same code for the black on the wheels btw ....

and while I'm at it, the top & wheel white is ASPEN WHITE, code 899

I posted a list of all color codes from 02 thru 08 a long time ago . . . b4 Sherwin Williams restricted access to their 'formula finder'

I've ordered both of these from Automotivetouchup.com in the past . . .

Thanks, Capt BJ! I wonder if "Aspen White" is the same as "Light White", the color of my spouse's Countryman. (Why can't they just call it "white"...)

Weather here cleared up nicely so I've started the touch up. Indeed Jet Black is a perfect match. Now waiting for the first coat to dry so I can sand it...

sand it ... ummmmm

I use http://www.langka.com/

wrt to 'light white' ... what's the color code?????

but b4 anyone reads TOO much into this be aware that sometimes these auto guys get stupid with their paint. I've worked with some cars where one color code had multiple formulas in the catalog and the only solution was to take color chips out into sunlight!!!!! I've never heard of this for MINI, but it is possible

so to summarize

MINI sometimes assigns multiple names to one code

and other makers will sometimes make different colors under one name/code!
