Trouble code help

My daughter's 2011 R56 (59K miles) did a 'reduced power" event last week, along with the engine light telling her that power had been cut back.

I checked codes with a Bavarian Technic code reader, which should be capable of pulling most codes - but the ones I found don't appear in any reference I can find.

I've Google searched, and also searched this and other forums for them, but I find almost no references to them and the one or two references I did find don't seem to be consistent.

The codes are:

2F7C
2F76
2DCE

I cleared the codes (which showed "error not present") and the engine light has not re-appeared, and the car has run fine - but I'd sure like to find out what those codes mean. They don't follow the more common P0XXXX format that most codes have.

Any references that I should check? Anyone know for sure what they mean?

Here is what shows up on Rheingold ISTA Diagnostic tool. Some have details (provided one for 2F7C) while others do not.

Here's a link to another source of Mini-specific codes --- http://blog.perrinperformance.com/mini-r56-dtcs-list/ Jeff Perrin is the guy responsible for the Mini version of Cobb's AccessPort. I trust his code descriptions.

It's not alpha-numeric (hexa-decimal numbering system), so might be difficult to find what you're looking for --- if it's there.

Thanks, gents.

I don't know what evil genius came up with these - I count 10 versions of 2F7C (most relating to Super-Knocking, a new term for me) 18 of 2F76 (mostly ambient pressure sensor), and 6 of 2DCE (no message from ASC/DSC or Valvetronic system, no adjustment possible.)

I suppose options are always good, right? But none of these appear to be actionable at present.

Research on super-knocking seems to indicate it may result from carbon build up on the valves. At 60K miles, that's a possibility. Might be a good time to use Techron and valve-type cleaners.

P1030 0x2DCE Valvetronic system: Closed-loop control deviation too high
P137F 0x2F7C Knock Control Fuel Cutoff Due to Super Knocking
P13A0 0x2F76 Super-knock on Cylinder 1: Injection deactivation

What your scan tool is giving you is the MINI FC code. Here are the associated P codes with them. These are all the other MINI FC codes can be found in the Bentley Manual HERE. We have a tech article that goes over the 2DCE valvetronic fault code. This is from our article:

If fault codes 2DCE and 58A2 are displayed, reprogram the vehicle using ISTA/P 2.30 or higher (integration level 1203500 or higher). Disregard fault code 2DCF at this time, and do not perform any further repairs related to this fault before programming.
I suggest you take a look at the article on our site: http://www.pelicanparts.com/techarti...nic_Faults.htm

I suggest you take a look at the article on our site under MINI > tech info (tab at top) > R56 articles > Fuel Injection > Understanding Valvetronic Fault Codes. It should help you a bit. Let me know if you have any questions.
Great help, thanks! Will check article.
