AC climate control

The AC compressor draws a lot of power from the engine. I'd like to know if this can be minimized through the use of climate control. So, which of the of the following statements is TRUE about the MINI's automatic AC climate control:

A: The compressor runs until the thermostat temperature is reached. The fan will continue to run, circulating cold air in the cabin. When air temperature rises above the setting the compressor runs again, continuing the cycle to maintain the desired air temperature.

B: The compressor runs at full capacity until the thermostat temperature is reached, after which it runs at minimum capacity to maintain the temperature.

C: As long the AC indicator is green, the compressor is running.

Thanks in advanced!
