Thermostat housing issue
Thermostat housing issue
A little background first, I bought the Mrs. a used 2012 Countryman ALL-4 last year and it is an absolute blast to drive. We have no complaints at all so far. The problem started last year when I drove my Mom over to Amarillo (we live near Albuquerque) and the CEL came on during the return trip. Stopped at an Auto Zone to read the code which turned out to be thermostat related. It has been a bit cold so I put off changing the housing until it warmed up a bit. I ordered the housing a couple weeks ago and tried to install it but before I removed the original I noticed it had a 4-pin electrical connector and the replacement has a 2-pin connector. Anybody else encountered this problem? Do I need to find a different/correct housing? Or is there a replacement connector? I have read that there is a TSB concerning this but not a lot of info available.

There are 2 different types of thermostat adapter leads. One goes through build date of 06/12 and the other goes from 07/12+. Did wherever you purchase it from confirm the parts with your vin? Adapter leads here: http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/..._pg1.htm#item3 I can confirm which one, if you don't know your build date if you give me the last 7 digits of your vin.

Good to know. I may just do that. Getting the right part the first try is always a good thing. I always tried hard to do that when I worked a parts counter.
