Taking it to the track...
I have the opportunity to do a HPDE event with my 2012 MCS six speed. I do have lots of track experience in other cars. I will bleed brakes prior to event with some ATE fluid but will be running stock pads rotors etc. As this would be a one time thing and I do not intend lots of track day events with this car, any words of wisdom from those who track their Minis?
I took my 08 S to a Track Night in America event last year and had a blast. The only thing I did to prepare was brake fluid flush. I already had EBC Greenstuff pads and Centric Rotors. The brakes suffered pretty significant fade so I'd be prepared for that especially with stock pads. Otherwise the car should hold up fine as is. I had Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS RFT all season tires and after the hour of track time they didn't seem much worse for wear, surprisingly. Have fun!

Here are some articles and possible brake solutions for your R56. Are you running a track day, like an SCCA Track Night in America, or Solo/autocross?

Here's a good street/track pad:

Drive Hard. Drive Safe. Keep Grinning.
I have done 3 track days with my 2012 R56S, going for #4 tomorrow. I highly recommend some better front brake pads. I have used EBC Yellow with great success and no fading. Stock rotors are fine.
Also recommend the CG Lock seatbelt lock, it adds on to your seatbelt latch so you can keep the lap belt tight so you stay planted in the seat.
Other fun stuff: get RaceChrono or Harry's Lap Timer for your phone, bring a GoPro with a suction cup mount and stick it on the inside of the windshield.

Definitely flush the brake fluid with high temp capable fluid. Previously I have used Motul 600 with great success. The dealer had done a flush with the standard Mini fluid a few weeks ago so I figured I'd be fine for the track day yesterday. Wrong. Significant fade after about 6 laps, and a continuing problem all day, one session it was so bad that I came in early.
