I've seen more than a few MINI owners with BRG that have done the black stripe look. Some do it with a pin stripe of white on the edges to help bring them out.
I am in the process of blacking out mine. I have 99% of the chrome gone. Wasnt sure how the white/silver pinstripe to outline the black stripes would look.
If you're de-chroming, I think the white pin stripe would still look fine. If you dig through that thread I posted above you'll find more than a few with the stripes. This one here has no pin stripe accent.
I had a purple haze mini which is pretty dark. The black wouldn't have really been seen without the silver but when they were on they sure looked good!
