OEM Riding Spring+Shock Combo..

I am currently running the Megan 32-Way Adjustable Coilovers and I love them... The handling is amazing and I enjoy the adjustment capability even on number 3 of 32.. However living in the Maryland DC area the roads are just plain horrendous !!!!! I took a drive down to NC and on their smooth roads I was super amazed on how smooth they were.. I really hate to get rid of them but Im getting killed on some of these roads around the city.. Why spend good money on something if the roads are just going to damage them?? My question is what is a good performing lowering spring and shock combo thats not harsh riding?? Something that can handle bumps and ruts and pot holes of the roads but can still handle really well in the corners..

I want to take a look at a few options and hear what most city people are running.. Thanks!

Yes, the road are a big factory , i was down near the dragon a couple last month and being on smooth roads make a huge difference in even the OEM ride . All you can do is adjust them to the softess setting or change out to something else.

For the most conformable some people are using FSD and on stock springs. But then you are not lowered. Or bilsteins b12.

I can't speak with authority on the Mini, but on other performance set up vehicles I've run.....tires/wheel combination can have a HUGE impact on the overall harshness of the suspension set up with little (if any) loss in performance. Is exploring another tire or tire/wheel combination an option?

I am in the DC/MD area as well, and I actually turned the damping up on my coilovers - it "sounds" a little more crashy, but the car moves less, and it's much better. Still have to slow way down for some stuff but that is more a ride height issue. i realllllllly freaking wish they would mill down all of the huge joints in the asphalt all over. 295 is horrific right now. 32 has all of the sink holes now too. Sucks

Its freaking insane on 295... I work up in Baltimore and parts of 695 is a beast as well.. I want 17's to stop the tire flex however right now the 16's might just have to do. When I lived in Vegas my friend had the same setup and ran his at race and it was like oem because of the smooth roads.. Around here you need a jeep..

Yeah it's crazy. If you ever want to meet up you can see how low I am in person haha. I rub here and there because of huge dips but nothing crazy.
