Alternatives for hiding the check engine light after a DP Install
Hi all, I wrote in earlier but I think I got lost trying to explain where I was going
. So as the title says it, here are the alternatives I know of how to get rid of the check engine light(hide the warning) after a Catless Downpipe Install:
1) Akrapovic Delete-R
2) ECU Tune (Manic,Evolve, etc.)
3) JB+ and a scanner(can someone confirm this and how it is done?)
4) 'Mini Cat' O2 Sensor Spacer - the cheapest route but I´ve heard from many that it does not work...at all.
If anyone knows of another method or can confirm the JB+ option, that would be great! Looking for the cheapest alternative there is because the price for the Delete-R doesn´t convince me...
Thanks in advance!

for 2, I think it's more of the scanner can be used to clear codes (but they will come back eventually). The Akrapovic Delete-R only hides the light, it doesn't change the codes, meaning when you take it in for inspection and they check for OBD readiness it will not pass. I think the only reliable option is a Manic tune where they will reprogram the ECU to ignore the lack of a cat. Someone else should check me on this as I'm not sure if this is exactly how it works.
Another choice is a catless DP from Mario Palza at Mquebed. He has figured out the correct spacing on the 2nd O2 sensor.
Get the Manic tune over the JB+, more expensive but so worth it. You will get the CEL when in the stock setting, but when in one of the performance maps you will not get the CEL and it will pass emissions in NC, which is purely OBD2 plugin check for readiness.

As far as the DP, being from Chile, the best option for my budget is a Scorpion Catless Downpipe because I can purchase it from a dealer here directly.
Thanks for the reply, much appreciated!
Thanks for the replies guys. I guess the way to go is the Manic tune. I'm gonna wait a bit for another sale on the tune here in Chile because I also want to get the little box that let's you switch in and out of maps.
