R56 Philips 9008XVS2 X-Treme Vision Headlight Bulb?

I tried those bulbs when I first got my mini 2 years ago. Its way better than the OEM H13 bulbs for sure. But they do tend to run quite hot, so my lens need to be polished every 2 weeks. Those bulbs do have short life, they go dim in 4-5 months. After that, I went to silverstar ultra. Which is the worst bulb I've ever had, they are even hotter than the xtremevision, but not brighter. Took it of in 3 days to prevent further damage. Then I use philips crystalvision, not too bad, not as bright as xtremevision, but a tad with whiter and longer life (cooler too). It last about 1 year before I ditch them for a set of 25w xenons. What year you got? Mine is a 09 built in 08, but I still manage to use the xenons.

Mine's a 2007. Would love to update to the Xenon as mentioned. Meanwhile - I guess I'm using the worse ones - my wife has night blindness and doesn't like them. The old ones must have been used because I thought they are brighter. Can't have lens damage so I best get rid of them. crystal vision?

If thats my $, I will go for crysralvision or just blow the bank and get the xenons! But make sure either you know how to code it or you can find someone to code it for you for the xenonss. (I did learn how to code the car because of the lights lol, either dealer say mine was too old to be fitted by them(9/09 is the cutoff) or the indy's want $400 for 8 screws and code it and they need 1 millions days advance to make appointment and take a whole day to it WTF) they do really light up the road very well like the 35w factory stuff except they arent intense compare to the 35w, still 10000000000000000% better than halogens. They are too dim and the beam is too narrow

Problem I read about in converting is the retro is only for 2009+ so I'm out of luck. Some people I read had success but its sketchy and you need to find a good dealer for programming. And then its about $1000K Just don't have the budget right now. If the X-treme run cooler than the SilverStar Ultra that would be better although I best check the state of the lens' and hope they didn't damage. I'll look into the crystal vision. Too bad not available locally.
