R56 Hearing a boiling noise?!
Hearing a boiling noise?!
Recently I popped the hood after a drive to check my oil level and heard a boiling noise coming from the coolant tank. It is rather warm here lately...around 90+ today so I dont know if that means anything but it seemed weird.
I looked through several previous threads but most all mention a boiling "over" and leaking from either the tank or cap. About 5 months ago I actually replaced my oem tank that cracked with a forge replica tank from ebay and have since to see any leaks from the cap, tank or connecting hoses.
I assumed all was well after that install but this boiling noise worries me that something may be afoot. Any suggestions? thoughts?

As long as the coolant level was up and you had no warning lights, that seems to be all you can do with these cars.
We can only assume that the computer would throw a warning at you if the temperatures go too high. Then again, there are plenty of reports of bad thermostat housing and water pumps on here so perhaps you are seeing some early indications of trouble.
