ruff and hesitated shifting

So I have noticed that my 2007 mini S with a automatic transmission has a hesitation during take off and during acceleration the shifting is ruff... is this normal?

There is a delay in throttle input on these cars, and that can make take off from a stop abrupt.

Fluid changes help with performance of the transmission, even though they say that it is 'lifetime' fluid.
