Blackout trim complete!

And I like it.

Plasti-dipped the headlight, taillight, and grille trim pieces today. I like the look so much better than the chrome. I had previously done the belt-line and this just looks right.

Now I need to get door handle covers, and decide if I want to dip the gas cap cover...

Big fan. On my first MINI back in the day I went through all this work vinyl wrapping and taping the chrome. I didn't really explore plastidip until later. I've used it for bike parts now as well. Will definitely be doing some on the new car when it comes. I have cans of plastidip and vht nightshade or whatever it's called just begging for use.

Dip the gas cap! I did it on mine and it was easy and came out great. It comes off easy as well to facilitate painting it without having to tape off the car. You'll be glad you did it.

Just did the same to mine this weekend on my PW MCS. Headlight trim, tail light trim, and grill trim.

On a side note, sabrownfl, I noticed you were trying to bag one of the JB+. You'll be glad you did, totally worth it...I installed mine last Saturday and there's a noticeable difference. Also installed a K&N intake at the same time and I'm seeing about 15hp & 20 ft/lb tq in gains between the two. And that's before hitting the JB+'s break in period.

My JB+ should be here Friday so it should be a fun weekend.

Looks good! One of the first things I dipped on my car was the roof! I also had a white roof and I wanted it black, so I dipped it black and then put a gloss coat on it. It still looks great after a year and half!

The black trim deffinately looks great. Especially with the color scheme you have going on!

We offer the door handle covers and Gas door cover in gloss black if you are interested!

Clicky click for door handle covers

Clicky click for gas door cover

Also, if the plastidip wears off we offer gloss black headlight trim (Clicky click) and Tail light trim (clicky click) as well!

Happy Motoring!!

Looks so much better, doesn't it? I did similar mods to mine. Put the MINI gloss black headlight/tail-light trim on, and then added the black-out tail-lights (with the amber turn signals in them). I wound up putting carbon fibre ($) bits on the door handles and gas door. But, I had to plastidip the headlight squirter covers on the headlights to match the black headlight trim rings.
Still haven't messed with the beltline, but I kind of like the lone chrome strip on the silver paint.

That's one nice looking ride! I've never been a fan of chrome, so getting rid of it just works

Did you remove the trim that surround the windows? Or did you tape it all off?

Looks great btw!

THanks! If I knew of an easy way to get beltline off, I would have Plasti-dipped it too, but I just used 3M High Temperature Electrical tape. Did it the first weekend I had the car, so it's been on a month, and been through several rainstorms, car washes, and high-speed drives (while wet and dry) without issue. I need to re-do a couple pieces as the cuts at the end are not as smooth/tight as I'd like, but for the $3 I spent on the tape, that is no worry!

I used this...

It turned out perfectly with a bit of patience and a steady hand. Pics here...
