behind the intake manifold

On the N14 motor, is there some small tank behind and underneath the intake manifold?

Yes i think this is the one... now on those tube lines, the tech replaced 2 small (not over 5cm) plastic tubes, one of them was pretty soft, the other was soft but not as much.
1. Can i see the part for each tube?
2. Is it normal that these go very soft after long use?
3. What symptoms occur when those two tubes go really soft? Should i have any issues like for eg. smell of petrol from the exhaust or disability to idle then starting the car cold?

It controls boost levels for the turbo diverter valve. The canister provides a constant vacuum instead of a surge up or down. The electric valve actually does the controlling of vacuum to the waste gate.

Use the pics and compare the parts to whats on your MINI

#1 Vacuum tank 11657560916

# 2 Pressure converter 11657599547

#3 Vacuum Pipe

The vacuum pipe connects to the waster gate then #1 and #2 then on the side of the Vacuum pump. It can get little leaks or cracks in the tube.

Thanks
