I'd love to setup a direct method injection port with this spacer!

I wonder if adding one port (possibly a secondary pump) on the cold side of the IC pipe, would aid the direct meth injection ports at the intake manifold? Perhaps also a pre turbo/air intake meth injection port? Really cool the crap out of that air. Lol

Or would that be too much?

Depends on how your tuner wants you to run it. This set up is being spec'd by Nick at Manic so we are not mounting nozzles anywhere else. Shooting for the highest WHP on stock turbo record once we get it fitted and dialed in. This set up will go head to head with an Owens developments turbo car at our next Dyno day shoot out in December.

Should have quite the variety of test cars this year. We might have a new car to beat the 310whp put down by R53 a few years ago.

You'd have to run pretty small nozzles if their for individual cylinders which would mean a greater chance if a blockage also without spraying before the map sensor the car will see high intake temps and pull timing. I'm guessing this will be a one off tune for the comp, max power with no timing pull and won't be practical for a daily driven road car even with switchable maps?

It will be normal everyday tune that can be switched to at will. It will be just as practical as any other MINI with 300+hp can be. Our customers typically save the highest Map for track days or joyrides. Clogged nozzles are typically result of tap water or using farm grade nozzles which will not be using. Our nozzles and tank pick up have filters.

As for map sensor as fail safe , Manic does not rely on that for timing control. The knock sensors would be input #1 in timing control. The meth tunes can also run 100+ race gas which would not show any reduced intake temps but they still run the same timing curve. The spraying of the map sensor is more of a way to trick the factory tune into giving more timing.

I've located and installed a DOS intake thanks to another NAM member. (Loving the sound). I can really hear the diverter valve cycling even during normal driving - sounds like Darth Vader. And it whistles like crazy above 4k rpm. Anyway, now that it is on I will be reinstalling the spacer this weekend.

Congrats👍, welcome to the DOS club. It's a shame that DOS went Out of business. Look forward to your feedback on the spacer...

I'm not quite sure what you mean by getting a freight train system but could imagine instead of the spray nozzles (in intake spacer) spraying Water/Meth they would whistle loud instead!

I'd say this upgrade is pretty much useless. If you have an aftermarket intake, then it probably won't fit right. The results from trying to make everything fit is not worth the effort.

I am about to sell my spacer.

It's very well designed, but the $ to HP returns are too small and I wouldn't use it for Meth, it bypassing sensors and doesn't have time to atomize mQubed Motorsport, Manic Tuning Dealer

Since nick is the one tuning and feels there isn't gonna be a problem, I guess I wouldn't haven't anything to worry about then.

Nick is very good at tuning these motors, but the spacer/meth spray is my own personal opinion. Not having a problem, is different than beneficial to what I have. The spacer, might turn out to be a winner. mQubed Motorsport, Manic Tuning Dealer
