2009 Bonnet Cable Broke

How do I open the bonnet when the cable is broke? The lever in the car is useless...

Remove the panel where the latch is. You should be able to pull on the cable if the cable no seized. My got stuck a few months back and I had to use pliers. Once you get it opened, lubricate it good.

A quick search says to pull the panel off near where the release is (inside the car). See if its detached from the lever.

If not... looking at this pic..

You can't get at it from the front, but you might by taking out the drivers side fender liner panel.. and trying to access the cable where it splits into two cables.. (under the rad support, near the headlight.)

Most often, it's the pull, not the cable. It breaks all the time (according to the internet) and is just a matter of putting some pliers on the cable and pulling. Then buy a new release and install it (maybe $15.)

If it really is the cable, then get under the car. You've got two latches to release. Use a long bar or screwdriver, and come up underneath the latch, trying to push about where the cable attaches to it. I had luck pushing the cable itself up on one side, but had to catch a little tab on the other side. Upward pressure in just the right spot will release it. It took me about 10 minutes once I figured it out.

Thank you for the replies! I'll check to see if the pull is broke.

Nah, you can't get to that from the wheel well. The coupling is in a little case that's pretty high up and you're access to it is pretty blocked on that side. You've got to open the latches themselves, which, really, isn't that hard. You've just gotta poke a bit, and be ready to get a dirty arm.
