Ill be removing and replacing the outer and the inner main (crank) seals on my R56 S automatic this weekend, assuming I get the correct seals. I ordered FelPro BS40721 and BS40710. 1/3 the price of Mini part. FelPro good. Mini BAD. Mini does not know how to seal an engine. Ive changed more seals and gaskets on this 2008 then I did on a 25 year old Toyota.

I need to drop the damn tranny to get to the inner seal. Any advice would be appreciated, outer (easy) or inner (nightmare) seal.

Car has 145k miles. Outer seal definitely leaking. Transmission side (rear) seal I believe to be leaking but cannot be sure. Added dye to the oil but cannot see that seal with the transmission in place.
