Is there any one who does custom access port tunes?

Would a 2011 JCW DME flash even load onto a 2007 MCS DME?

The AccessPort has a huuuuuge tuner base. Someone who will custom tune the N14 motor is the hard part. Look for Subaru and Evo tuners in your area then call around to see which ones of them is willing to tune a mini.

Hi there Thruxton, it's helpful people like you offering advice that really take this forum to a higher level. Good on you, and I hope if ever I need help with mine, I can turn to you for some advice too!

Cheers mate.

I actually did a JCW swap from my 08 MCS. The ECU will recognize it's a JCW and make adjustments accordingly. I have a boost gauge and I am running the correct boost levels for a JCW engine/turbo. Now if you put one of JM Turbo Coopers' turbos in I wouldn't be able to say what the ECU will do. The ECU reads the sensors of the JCW engine and makes adjustments accordingly. As far as custom tuning goes, I'm not sure what you would do for that. I'm eventually tuning, but I have a bunch of things I want to get done to my car before I start throwing more power into it.

Trust me when I say that after about 100 miles or so you will recognize the difference between the MCS and JCW. It's really different (in a great way). One thing I would caution is to be aware that the MCS clutch/DMF has failed prematurely on a lot of 07 and 08s. You are putting more power into the stock MCS/DMF clutch so just keep in the back of your head the possibility of needing to replace the clutch and DMF before you would like to. I haven't had any clutch slipping or issues, yet. But I am buying an uprated clutch/flywheel kit so I'm not left high and dry if my stock set-up does decide to fail.

Best of luck and enjoy!

Yes, that's sort of where I'm at now.... I need to figure out how to have the turbo built... The shop I went with has mild to wild setups, and the cost difference between them isn't too big. Any recommendations for the tune?

Get rid of the mini and buy something that actually has custom tuning support
