R56 Evolve Automotive - Introduction / Inventory Status / Special Pricing
WOW 6 page thread numerous replies from numerous members and we end up with this many people interested in actually putting their money where their keyboards are, it's no surprise there are limited options for tuning on these cars
Hi Alex,
If you will like to see a big numbers of N18 owners that will like the Evolve ECU tune, you must open a new tread in the right location: 2nd generation Minis/ Modifications/ Drivetrain (cooper S).
And title it in attractive subject....
You can copy the list from this tread.

Not everyone has the money right this god damn minute to say "Yes, I'd pay that kind of money if you did a group buy". I'd rather be honest and not put my name on the list than say "Oh yeah definitely" to find I still don't have the money when the GP comes up. But you're right, if we don't have a stock pile of expendable cash for such goodies right this second, we should never post our opinions, advice, or interest on the forum.
Sorry, after I posted that I thought I might put a few noses out of joint. I know the American economy is in the toilet at the moment except of cause if you work for an investment bank, so no insult intended. I was just trying to fire up some of the other members following this thread to put themselves forward for a tune to motivate Evolve a little bit more.
Any chance you could offer a budget version of the tune? $900 custom tunes are great, but not everyone needs them. A canned tune for a stock car will suite the needs of a number of mini owners including myself.
BMS is offering a dyno proven piggyback for the N18 with 20 whp and 30 wtq for $299 fyi.

i can see this thread leading to some bad blood between vendor 1 vs vendor 2. Let hope it doesn't.

There is nothing wrong with healthy competition between sellers. In the end the consumer is the one who benefits.
People in the JDM world have tons of tuning solution (including open source) and they see to be doing just fine.
But other than being malicious or trying to bash Evolve, why would you guys all post info, prices, links to BMS stuff? Get off Evolves back. Their thread is NOT the place to advertise other vendor's products. Tactless....
I don't think that was borderwave2's intention.
But his post alone is enough information on BMS for Evolve to check out.
I do hope Evolve considers coming back to the tuning scene. N18 or not, it's great for everyone to have alternatives for tuning. We all have very little options when it comes to custom builds. That's enough to discourage people from even trying.
I'm honestly shocked that we get a few people who experiment with different turbos and don't even consider the tune that'll get it to even run right.
I'm all for more dyno tuners!

Pretty funny lol. You're acting like evolve or any tuner for that matter sells tunes out of the kindness of their hearts. They're not doing you or me any favors, they are in business to make money.
IMHO, evolve has some top notch products and I would love to see what they can offer us in the way of tuning. There is nothing wrong with providing prospective on the current market prices for r56 tunes, which is exactly what I did.
Custom tunes might be what you want but a canned tune with modest but safe power gains is what I, and judging by the success of BMS's piggyback, many other mini owners want too.
For reference, when I say budget tune I am referring to something like this. Users with stock cars can choose a cheaper more limited tune and those with mods can chose a custom one. Just a suggestion.
