P2065 Error Code

Hello everybody, I was wondering if any of you have come across the p2065 error code. My 2010 Cooper S has been giving me the code. The code reader says its the fuel sensor b, I replaced the passenger fuel lever sensor it was not that. It seems that when I accelerate on a hill with full push it will trigger the code. I'm thinking its the fuel pump in the gas tank, but hopefully its not the other fuel pump. I've search online there isn't any information on this code. Thanks!

I'd be interested to know as well. I've had the code come up a few times and assumed it actually was the fuel level sensor b as my fuel gauge has never quite worked right. I've had the code come up in conjunction with limp mode as well so a fuel pump would explain that.

This code sometimes indicates the high pressure fuel pump. If your are under warranty see the dealer. Good luck.

I was afraid it would be the high pressure fuel pump. I purchased it in 2010 and I assume I'm out of warranty. I know there was an extended warranty for R56's before 2010. I wonder if it applies to the 2010 R56. According to Mini Service book the code read out is:

DTC: P2065 Fuel Level Sensor "B" Circuit:
The DME detected a high condition on the pump.
Possible Causes:
-The fuel pump has failed
-Short to positive
-Check wiring

Ok, just an update: I have replaced the high pressure fuel pump and the regular fuel pump, and the sensor on the fuel filter still receiving the error code. It seem's the code is triggered when I accelerate. I'm thinking there is a short somewhere, but I don't know where to begin. When I checked the scanner it said FUEL SYS 1 Closed. I will follow up on this. I am on a Ahab worthy quest here now.

Did this ever get resolved? taking mine to the dealer today for the same code. Dreading it really...they always over-quote :(

It was the timing cam. It might have to do with your timing chain as well.

Good to know you got it fixed! Did you do all the work yourself? Where is the fuel filter on the R56 exactly? My car 113k miles and I think its time to change it.

Actually, this the fix for p2065 was the high pressure fuel pump. I replaced that and then I got the Fuel Sys 1 error and the reason for that one was I accidentally unplugged two small hoses connected to a reservoir. The fuel filter is under the back seat. There are two openings one is the fuel pump and one is the fuel filter canister. I didn't replace the filter fuel canister. Just that back seat fuel pump.
