My passager side bulb does not come on from time to time. When it does come on it comes on with a bright flash, while the other one just turns on normally. I have the OEM HIDs. Im thinking it's not the bulb, so its probably the igniter or the ballast. In which case does it make sense to just switch over to aftermarket HIDs, rather then paying for OEM parts? Thanks

You might be able to find factory replacement parts cheaper than at the dealer. In that case, I would just replace the bad balast because there is really no reason to go through fitting aftermarket equipment all around when you can just replace the one bad part.
