Anyone owned/driven Hyundai 3.8 Coupe? Comments.

I posted something like this in the off topic autos. 68 views-no comments. The Coupe looks good on paper. 348 HP/rear wheel drive. Just curious if any MINI drivers have owned or driven one of these. Thanks.

Boy I wanted the 2013 Hyundai Genesis 2.0t R-Spec but I was in the market for a car two years ago! Many MINIacs don't like Hyundai cars on this forum, good luck with your question lol.

I've driven one. It was quick and felt average around corners. Decent straight line performance and got really nice big Brembos to stop you. But I cannot put up with the extremely cheap interior. It felt like I was sitting in a really quick kart built by Fisher Price!! I drove one back in 2011 and I heard they have improved the interiors quite a bit compared to the previous gen. But its a Korean car, expect a ton of hard plastic cheap interiors (even if they changed the layout).

i have a few friends with them. they are very mod friendly if that's what you're looking for. does NOT come in a manual, which is ridiculous. not a great dd imo, not a lot of space in there. it's a nice looking car, and hyundai has done a lot to improve just about everything, hell i almost got a veloster at one point. it's a very specifically targeted car though, mostly to the modding folks. they have the potential for quite a bit of power, much more than a mini could do.

if it's worth it depends on what you want it for.

I drove a 3.8l manual about a year ago. Surprising fast and pretty fun. I personally didn't like the feel of the clutch though. I think performance and mod wise makes it worth looking into, alittle lacking on cargo space but my friend swears he can fit two sets of golf clubs in the back. Im pretty the 3.8l only comes in a mt.

Correct the 3.8 is a manual trans only. I'd love to get my hands on a 3.8, I saw awhile ago on youtube they compared the V6 Mustang, Camaro, Challenger, Charger, and Genesis. They all loved the Genesis first and Mustang second. That says a lot for those V6 class.

Maybe when I trade or sell my MINI in the future it'll be for a 2.0t Genesis:-).

On the 3.8 Track and R edition the manual is standard.

My neighbor bought a 3.8 Track in December.....nice car!

Problem is the dealership likes it more as its been there longer than in his garage! Lucky he has that 10 year powertrain warranty...he will need it with this car.
