Question on 2007 MCS Battery Replacement

My wife's battery has been starting to turn over more slowly (it's 6yrs old) so I swapped it yesterday with a Duralast Gold H6-DLG, which fits perfectly and was exact same size as BMW/Mini OEM Battery ($120 out the door after core, tax, and a coupon I had). OEM battery was flooded, not AGM. I replaced it with Flooded. The suggested size was H5, but it was a lot smaller than OEM and had lower CCA. The H6 has more CCA and reserve capacity than OEM.

Anyway, my question is if this early build R56 "requires" or "recommended" to do a battery swap program of the car? The battery connectors and wiring are very normal, with no crazy boxes or tons of extra wiring (unlike my BMWs). So wondering if this car even has that function. I understand later models do for sure.

Thanks

Once the battery is replaced, nothing else is needed. Did mine in November.

Make sure terminals and grounds clean, bright and tight. A smear of never sieze does not go astray.

Swapped my battery last month. The only issue was the stress and toil of having to reset the clock.

The dealer does recommend a computer update and "learn procedure" for a new battery, but plenty have said "F.U." to the stealer, put in a new battery, and lived happy lives.

I replaced mine way back no troubles in a couple years.
I do put those little felt rings on the terminals.

Replaced my battery today. As mentioned in other threads, the 47 series of batteries are not the same size as oem. 48 series bolts right in no issues, no lost memory (other than reset the clock). Used a Bosch/Exide 48-690B. $108.99 after core return.

No Mini owner was fornicated by a dealer in this service.
