Motul Engine Oil

Has anyone used Motul 5W30 on a R56 Turbo? I'm looking to do the first oil change since my warranty ended. What oil would you recommend?

Thanks

Uh-oh... Oil thread!

My 2c...

Make sure the oil has either the A3-B3 rating, or change it frequently if you chose a different rating. Make sure it's a synthetic though.

Just my 2c...

I'd suggest contacting Motul directly for a recommended weight. From what I can find on their site, it looks like they would probably recommend the 5W40.

Man... take your pick of you favorite fan boy synthetics. Lots of MINI owners round these parts swear by Royal Purple and AMSOil, including me.

I'm sure Motul is fine if it meets the requirements of MINI/BMW, but why not use either Mobil 1 0w-40 or MINI OEM oil. The both should be easier to find and we know they are approved
