brake sensor on lit yellow. and car on lift lit yellow

Hello everyone please help. I have 2008 mini base model r56 n12. Auto. I have this 2 warning lights came on and i have no clue what it is is besides it has something to do with brakes. The first one is the word BRAKE is lit in yellow. The other one is the car raised up on a lift on yellow light. Are these 2 warning lights connected with each other? What do i need to do to get this solve please help and thanks in advance.

Ditto k_h_d... See what the book says. Actually though, I think you've tripped a brake sensor. And these electronic sensors "trip" in such a way that you have to replace them along with the brake pads... That is, the tip of the sensor wears off and breaks an electrical circuit. That my be what you're seeing.

You can cycle thru the messages using the button on the end of the turn signal stock. Go to the chek-info/service-info menu. You will have to press and hold or press and release to see the messages. If it is the brake sensor there is one on the driver front and one on passenger rear. The message icon on the tach will show you a car on the lift. Then the next picture shows either the front or rear half on a lift. That tells you which sensor.

You say you are at 50k miles so depending on circumstances, you could be ready for brakes.

Car on the lift means inspection from what I recall and brake (I don't have this light because mine is an EU car) but it could mean you tripped a sensor.

Thanks everyone. So does this mean i have 2 different warning lights? One is for brakes and one is for inspection? Or they will be both cleared out once i replace the brake pads and sensor? Thanks again. Here is the picture of the lights that im getting.

How ironic....I have both lights as well. Had them since I swapped in the stoptech bbk. Haven't bothered to really do anything about them...

car on lift yellow light and word brake on yellow light.

Hi again everyone. Im still waiting for a solid convicing answer to my question. Are those 2 lights (car on lift with yellow light and the word brake on yellow light) together or they are completely different? So far athe only answers i got are most likely, maybe, i think and so on. Nothing that is for sure. Has anyone had this lights issues before? If yes what did you guys do to fix this problem? Thanks again

dealer replaced my brakes when this happened to my '09 before I traded it in. They said the brakes had been worn down and needed to be replaced. I believe it was taken care under the warranty, because there was no reason for that to have happened.

Yeah mine came on too and when the dealer replaced my motor they said I needed new brakes for the rear. Its been several months and now I gotta change them. Haven't had much funds so trying to find good deals on rotors and brakes. Can't afford a BBK right now.
