BSH Dual Boost Tap

I'm going to be purchasing the BSH OCC but debating on getting the direct dual boost tap. I won't be needing to tap for a vacuum line anytime soon. Are most of you guys getting the dual boost tap with your OCC?

You didn't say what year MINI you have, but I'll assume it's a 2010 or older series two Cooper S.

The BSH oil catch can, by itself, won't prevent or slow carbon build up on the intake valves without the dual boost port blocking the primary PCV line. Most of the gunk goes through the PCV line on the back corner of the head cover to the throttle body. The dual boost port blocks that line and forces all the crankcase vapors through the other PCV line to the catch can and then to the turbocharger. The oil is then caught by the catch can.

I have the dual boost tap upon the recommendation of Clint at Defenders of Speed, where I got my BSH oil can.

True, you want the boost port to make sure that all PCV vapors go through the driver side port and through the oil catch can.

Is the BSH can recommended over the NM catch can? I am just not sure if the NM has the Dual Boost Tap as well.......I want to prevent future problems by doing this now.

The NM oil catch can has a block off plug included with its fittings.

I went with the BSH set up, mainly because it has a dipstick that makes it easy to check the level of gunk.

You don't have to. I haven't seen any complaints about carbon build up in 2011 and later models.
