300 hp in a Mini is about as useful as a JATO on the back of a '64 Impala. IMHO.

Looked like it worked for them on the track. Maybe on the street it is too much but, if you are keeping up with a Pagani Zonda there is something working right.

DAMN!!! Wish my coupe was like that haha

Know what I find sorta funny...it's a full blown racecar but they still decided to
leave the antenna on the car haha
They went with the stubby one for more aerodynamics

This is funny coming from a person driving a M series Z4...is there really a need for that power in a car?

Has it's benefits... 300hp makes for a ride so hot it would make good and toasty hotdogs on the fly.... a speeding, flying, and toasty Oscar Mayer MINI.

What haters are you talking about? There have already been MINI's over 300 hp, some even street legal.

Horsepower is always nice but I find it interesting they passed a Porsche and chased down a Zonda. Hmmmmmmmmm, well done boys, well done indeed .....

This is pretty cool. You too can put this kind of power in your MINI for a hell of a lot of cash, or.......... just buy a different better car.

A 330hp Z4M is a completely different animal than a 300 hp Mini. I was quite happy with 172 hp in my MCS, and VERY happy with the Z4M in stock form. As Porthos pointed out, how it's done and what the car is used for is certainly a factor in this discussion, and my MCS was strictly a street car, so that kind of monster motor would have been silly for me. More power (no pun intended) to anyone who wants to put out monster numbers with their MCS or JCW.

296bhp equates to maybe 250 or 260whp tops. Plenty of JCWs running around with that kind of power.

It's not as special when a large tuner like AC Shnitzer does a project like that.
Saw this on Stanceworks. I wonder if he'll hit 300hp. (http://www.stanceworks.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1232)

I've been to this event and it makes for a very entertaing weekend . The AC guys looked like they really put some effort into their program and that is what some but not all teams do. The biggest differential here is with the drivers profeciency . AC went out and contracted Manfred to do the driving and before I would compare any mini to a Zonda time wise I think the drivers qualifications of that car should also be taken into account. This event has been going on for almost 20 years and if offers huge bragging rites to the european tuning community and some companies will leave no stone unturned to paint the best possible picture of their product while others just want to participate.
