Strange vibration after changing rear brakes

Hello,
I just changed the rear brakes on my 2008 mini s last night and this morning I took the car to the coffee shop and when I take my foot off of the gas at around 30mph I get a strange vibration from the left rear.

I have changed my brakes on all of my different cars for a long time now. But have never had something like this.

Any ideas on what to check out?

Lug not tight or something stuck between rim and hub?

I just checked the rear. I removed all and doubled checked it. All looks fine. I'm really confused.

If the pads don't rub, and all bolts are tight, it has to be balance (maybe you knocked off a weight), rim or tire.

Thanks, I checked but no weights etc on the garage floor. I reset the tires and took it for another quick run and this time I paid better attention.
When I take my foot of the gas and it starts to coast I get a bit of vibration. But when I add just a bit of pressure to the breaks while coasting I really get vibration.

Is there any chance the new rotor is not true?

Thanks,
Charlie

Wild,

Did you also change the rotors? If you only feel it when you're applying the brakes I don't believe it a wheel issue. If you didn't change the rotors check for run out.

If you feel it in the pedal then the rotor is warped or the surface between the rotor and hub is not clean. Pads do need to be seated, but if while the wheel is off spinning the rotor shows no warping, then it shouldn't be the cause.

It is very hard to trouble shoot with the only info being "vibration".

Sometimes even new rotors are wraped.
