MINI cooper s ECU chip GFChips.com ????
I was looking through my G-mail account and saw a link for this ECU chip. Figured I'd give it a look and see what they had to say. From what I've read the Alta access port is the only way to go if you are going to do any tuning to your cooper. But these fellas offer 60 HP gain, increased fuel economy, life time warranty, money back guaranty...all for $69 and a 15 min easy install with hand tools. Is the legit? worth it? any one know anything about these guys?

its a scam... sorry. If it seems to good to be true it is. the only way to increase power and fuel effeceny is to free up intake and exhaust restrictions as well as better fuel. Tuning your car with an accesport can generate massive horsepower gains but will punch your fuel economy in the face.

PORTHOS...i'm assuming you're referring to the fuel economy punching in the face? So you got great gains with the accesport but still have good fuel economy. What did your gains look like? Do you have dyno numbers? What is your gas millage compared to what it was before??

I do have a dyno sheet I just forgot where I put it. I am at 200hp/220tq and my gas mileage is about the same as before. I am currently averaging about 31.7mpg according to my Fuelly.com account.
I beat on mine all day long and was pretty much 100% city driving...would usually get 29-30 mpg. Lowest I saw was 25-27....but that was only when driving REAL hard on a long drive around the canyons/mountains.
The secret is having a tuner that knows how to get every bit of performance out of your car safely with out giving up anything. In my oppinion having more hp and tq means the car doesn't have to work as hard to get me where I want to go. Drivability is also greatly improved, no sport button or sprint booster required on my car. If I do put on the sport button, the torque monster want to rip the wheel out of my hands.
I guess It's better said that adding power to a car will decrease fuel economy. simply adding more air requires the use of more fuel. I guess I exxagarted the amount a bit much, but if your making more power your using more fuel its a pretty simple equation.
sorry for the misinformation.

I checked out this site, too, and immediately noticed the "original" price of this miracle mod was $399.00 and is now a measly $69.00
