noisy blower fan

My 08 Justa has a noisy blower fan especially at the lowest setting. Seems to be worse when its first used. Anybody else experiencing this? Is it hard to get to?

TC...I've complained to my Dealer about Molly's Blower Fan sounding like coins rolling around inside a tin can, they've checked other MINIs and they all have sounded the same??!!
Not sure if this is the sound you are hearing, just thought I'd pass along the info.

My blower makes a sound like the fan is hitting something, but only on the lowest speed.

Since I was in for routine service, the service department checked it and ordered a new motor/fan assembly. I'll go back next week to get it replaced.

Not sure how hard it is to change on the MINI, but my experience with foreign cars is that the HVAC blower is what I like to call, "the genesis part" -- it seems to be the first part down the assembly line, and they build the car around it.

I don't know if its the same as my old R53, but I had a squeal from time to time. I removed the cabin filter and put a long straw on a can of spray lube. I inserted as far a possible in the cavity of the cabin filter to the squirrel cage to lube. It did the trick. I was told another method was to drill a very small hole in the case of the fan by the accelerator peddle, insert straw and lube.
Good luck---

The fan on my 2012 Justa is certainly noisy. Sounds like a common complaint.
