So my Mini was involved in a bit of a fender bender.

Had to go to BMW for service after the body shop...

...I get the car back, trip odometer is "gone", but it actually appears in the scrolling list now. What gives? It is annoying enough that I need to swap back and forth to see outside temp and MPGs.

Is there anyway to put my trip odometer back in correct spot???

 

IIRC, this happened because of a software update on the car. And no, you can't put it back that I know of. It has been posted about before on here.

 

Honestly...that is extremely annoying. Between the accident, dealing with the accident, and now dealing with the issues and annoyances after the accident, this car might be on the chopping block long before it deserves to be.

 

Any updates to this "issue"? I just got my Mini, a 2011 convertible, back from the dealer. They replaced some temperature sensor and said they also had to reprogram all the service intervals for some reason and when I got it back my trip odometer was missing as described in this thread. I sat in my car for 15 minutes going through all the settings trying to get it back but no luck. Then I came here and did a search and found this thread.

If this is really permanent, I have to say, it kind of sucks! I used my trip odometer constantly. Having to cycle through the display every time I want see it now is really going to be annoying.

Is there a solution for this or has Mini decided to take away my trip odometer permanently?

 

Reprogramming is the culprit. And yes, its not a standard item on the on board computer anymore. Idk why.

 

I think that they are just too happy.
