Sport button has little effect?? 2010 R56S

Hey guys!

First post!!

I picked up a 2010 R56S Manual on Friday. Having a great time with this car. We have a household of BMWs, including a 2011 M3. The little Mini is a riot. I have one question after 5 days of driving. When I press the sport button, the only effect that I notice is the steering is firmed up. I get no difference in throttle response and nothing from the exhaust. The exhaust is exactly the same with the Sport button ON or OFF. No burble, no nothing. I know what increased throttle sensitivity feels like (M3), and there is absolutely no difference on this car. I have been leaving the sport button OFF mostly, because it seems like a gimmick.

Ideas?

Sport button only creates more linear response on the throttle and adds steering resistance through the electromechanical steering rack.

2010 S has no pop and burble. You should get a very noticeable throttle response.

Wow! That just blows about the 2010s not having pop and burble exhaust. Wish I found this forum before purchasing!! Would buying a JCW exhaust help at all?

So, has anyone found a way to remap ECU for exhaust burble?

No pop and burble? That's the best part!

There are some people on the JCW page that are taking out part of their exhaust. I cant remember whats it called but they are saying they are getting more pop and gurgle and its a tad bit louder. I really am thinking of doing that.

To me the throttle response in sport mode is too touchy. It's almost an on / off switch to full throttle. It's fine when doing very aggressive driving but too touchy for other driving.

Haha, I've got an 08 M3 myself and now have a 13 MCS on order.

I test drove one at the dealer and just had to get one. I love my M but sometimes the shear power and price of the car makes me a bit leary when pushing hard on the streets and easier to get away from you. It takes quite a bit to get that car on the limits of grip. When I drove the Mini, I had that thing sideways into turns and never felt it would get away from me, and that was all at relatively slow speeds. It made it a blast to drive.
