R56 User Manual
Doesn't look like 2012's are up on the Owner's Resources (Owner's Lounge) in MINIUSAcom yet, once it is you will be able to download it in PDF Form, then you should be able to upload it to anything you want.
Hope this helps!!

You can sign up for the owners lounge anytime you want at https://ol.miniusa.com/
Don't think MINI will send you anything on it. I never received any thing from MINI about the owners lounge.
In fact if you ordered a car the you could have tracked it thru production on the OL.

I see that now. Thanks!
Maybe this is a question not to pose under this heading, but is there anyway to just get a door unlock key made? I like to have one of those in my wallet in case I lock myself out!

That would be a Q for the dealer. Keys must be ordered by VIN number. Don't know if they will make a metal door key without the fob?
However it's pretty hard but not impossible to lock the key in. When you open the driver door it always unlocks of course, but then won't lock without the fob. (If driver door is open, it cant' be locked via the manual door button or center console button).
Now if you leave the key on the seat and close the driver door and the passenger gets out and locks the doors with the manual door button or center console switch, then shuts the door you are locked out.
If you have the comfort access option then the doors will not lock at all unless the fob you are using is outside the car.
I think the only way to be locked out with CA is with driver door closed and the passenger door open...... Lock the doors with the fob, console, or manual door button, then throw the fob into the car and close the passenger door.

Thanks klricks.
It does seem hard to do. There have been a lot of times we purposely wanted to do it though and have a hide-a-key or a spare in my wallet. Sometimes you do something where you don't want to carry your keys and risk getting them wet or lost.
I'll have to ask the dealer about that.

Simply separate the key from the fob and lock the doors using the metal key.
The key is a bit clunky to put in your wallet.
MINI does not seem to offer the emergency 'wallet' door key like they did with the 1st generation models.
